An Overview of the Three Year Program
Level one is the first year of a three year program which focuses on learning to think like a herbalist. The second and third years focus on developing clinical skills as a herbalist. Upon completion of the 3rd, you will be eligible to apply for the designation of RH (Registered Herbalist with Ontario Herbalist Association).
Successful completion of the full program will offer you the designation of Clinical Herbalist (CH).
Please note: You are welcome to participate in level one because you have a general interest in herbal medicine and do not wish to go on to studying clinical herbalism.

General Outline of Year One - The Kitchen Herbalist
Level one of the apprentice program will provide you with both theoretical and practical knowledge in the use of herbal medicine. The apprenticeship is designed for those with an interest in herbal medicine and wish to use it in their daily lives to benefit themselves and others.
What will you learn:
* You will develop a practical, hands-on knowledge of herbal medicine
* You will understand the theory behind the application of herbs from a holistic point of view
* You will explore how plants interact with the human body to create medicine
* You will have confidence in using herbal medicine for yourself, family, friends, and clients
* You will learn how to grow, harvest and make medicine with local herbs
Each month you will be based on
An assignment based on a chapter from The Herbal Apprentice: Plant Medicine and The Human Being and The Herbal Apprentice Workbook.

Harvesting and Drying Plant Medicine
Weekend Camp Out June 25, 26, 27, 28 Wild Plants – Taking yourself for plant walks, Creating Flower Essences, Medicine Making, Plant Spirit Medicine and lots of fun.
Skype Classes: These classes will be generally be held the Tuesday before the Friday classes from 6:30 to 8:00 pm. You will receive the dates of these classes upon registration.
Costs:
Total cost is $1745 plus HST 13% tx.
All payment include tax.
1st payment of $493.00 is due upon registration.
2nd payment of $493.00 is due on 1st class, September 18
3rd payment is of $493.00 is due on 4th class, December 18
4th payment of 493.00 is due on 6th class, February 19
Payments can be made via e-transfer.
For herb camp, there is a separate charge for accommodations.
