This week will be full of plant learning, both theory of holistic herbal
medicine and practical hands on learning. You will learn meditations
to deepen your intuitive understanding of plants and the wisdom of your
body. You will discover the medicine in local plants as well as some
wonderful plants from far away. And finally, you will have a greater
appreciation for the beauty and interconnection of life on this generous
planet we call Earth.
Please Note: It will be important for you to familiarize yourself with

Sunday 10 – 5 pm
Knowing Plant Medicine and Meditations on the Body
There is a knowing between plants and humans, as they have helped each other since before time was recorded. This long and deep friendship is the essence of herbal medicine. We will spend most of this day deepening our understanding of this most sacred and profound relationship between medicine and healer with a plant walk, a study of the landscape and how it reflects health in our mind/body.

Plant Chemistry, Tastes and the Landscape of the Body
This evening busing your taste buds you will learn how your body understands plant medicine. We will explore deepen our exploration of the body’s landscape while discovering how through taste we can choose plants that support a healthful balance in our body and minds.

The Kitchen: Your Disgestive System
Some traditional forms of herbal medicine consider your digestive system as the body's kitchen where food is cook with water and fire. When water and fire are out of balance, your digestion and health suffer. Learn about herbs that help support this balance and how to read the balance of these elements in your digestive tract.
Wednesday 4:00 - 8:00
The River of Life: Circulation
Your blood carries water, fire, earth and air throughout the body. This evening we will explore how plants support the river of life by balancing these elements. You will also discover how to understand the balance of elements in the body through listening deeply to the pulse.
Thursday 4:00 - 8:00
The Messengers – The Nervous System
Health is achieved through harmonious relationships between different parts of your body. The nervous system is key to creating a loving relationship with yourself and others as well as between your liver and your brain. Discover how plant medicine can support you in creating harmonious relationships.
Friday 4:00 - 8:00
Protection – The Immune System
During this evening we will be a little more specific in exploring how plant medicine supports the health of the immune during chronic illness, in particular infection. This is a current passion of mine, so be ready for a new paradigm of healing, beyond anti-biotics.
Saturday 10:00 – 5:00
Making Medicine
During our final day travel outside of town to gather plant medicine. We explore how to gather medicine in a sustainable way and make medicine.
Your Facilitator
Abrah Arneson has been a practicing herbalist for 15 years. She went to school for 5 years to study herbal medicine and upon graduation opened The Green Clinic in Red Deer. In 2015 she closed to clinic and returned to her roots in the Carolinian forest of Ontario. She is currently practicing herbal medicine in Ottawa, Ontario.
